Drew Update

Soooo much has changed with Drew over the last few months that it's hard to remember everything that I should share. He still LOVES to learn and still continues to amaze me daily! He knows all the letters of the alphabet, can spell his name, he's getting better at counting. He corrected me a couple of weeks ago when we were playing with shapes. I called it a moon, and he informed me that it's a crescent. Crescent?? Really?? At two years old?? Geez! He certainly didn't learn that from me! Actually I think he learned it from Blues Clues. He's still doing well with his baby sign language, he continues to use it in addition to speaking the words. He speaks very well for his age, well, as far as being able to understand what he's saying at least, but as with all children his age, grammar is an issue. "My do it" "Hand walk?" "Book read?" He loves to be outside, he's been playing ball with Dadda on the weekends and going fishing. His favorite book is Goodnight Moon, he wants you to read it over and over again. Still lots of "big hugs" and kisses and many "I love you Mama"'s.

As sweet as he is, he is also very strong willed, or as his teacher described it, he sometimes has a problem transitioning from one thing to the next. He wants to do it when he's ready and not a moment before. He is finally to the age where he is playing with the other kids at school, not just playing side by side. His best friend is Riley, they get so excited to see each other in the morning that sometimes they hug :) It's very sweet. The entire class is at the "Mine" stage. Amazing how we kept that word out of our vocabulary for two years to try to avoid it, but now it's his favorite and most used word.

We aren't pushing the potty training, he has a potty and sits on it when he wants to. They do the same at school. Lately he has developed more of an interest in it and I also think he's becoming more aware of when he goes in his diaper, so hopefully we'll start making some progress there. He loves to wash his hands and brush his teeth.

Here is a picture of a few of Drew's toys from when we had his friend Braden over for a playdate.

This is the Power Wheels truck that Uncle David got Drew for his Birthday. He'll sit on it but wants nothing to do with pushing the pedal & if you do it for him, he immediately wants out. He is still a bit young for it anyways. Oh and I'm sure you'll notice the long hair in the pics with the truck. He has a FULL head of hair but absolutely hates for anyone to mess with it, especially cutting it. Total nightmare. He got a haircut shortly after these pictures were taken but is due for another one soon. Ugh.

Here's another pic of him that I love. He's still got those chubby cheeks, but is otherwise pretty thin. He's 28 mnths old, but most of his shorts are 12 mnths, with a few 18 mnths.

Drew's New Fishing Pole

Drew and his Dadda picked out a cool Car's fishing pole which Drew was very excited to test out in the backyard. He also got some cool new red shades to match the fishing pole, of course!

Here is our little thinker doing his thinking pose...
