Growing Boy!

Drew has officially been walking for a few weeks now! Once he started, he didn't want to stop! He's on the go constantly! He's very active, very much a boy, but such a sweetie. He loves to cuddle, give & receive kisses and hugs. Don't be fooled by that though, he certainly has a temper! I'm hoping this is just a phase, when he gets mad at something, he bites it, no matter what it is! Also, he has started slapping himself in the face when he gets mad too, it's hard not to laugh b/c he looks a little special when he does it, but not a behavior we want to encourage at all :(

Besides his Mommy & Daddy, I'm not sure there is much in this world that Drew loves more than his doggie. Poor Baxter has been put through so much already, but he takes it like a good doggie. He squeezes his eyes closed as Drew pounds on him, pulls his fur, pokes at his face, mouth or anything. A couple days ago Drew saw me playing w/ Baxter, I asked him to "shake", so Baxter gives me his paw, Drew thought it was sooo funny so we did it a couple of times. Last night Drew walks right up to Baxter and yanks his paw into the air and starts shaking it. Baxter was far from pleased but took it like the good doggie that he is. He is quickly learning that Drew will be a good friend to have now that he is eating regular food. He usually has a few pieces stuck to him once he gets out of his highchair and Baxter is more than willing to clean him up.

Drew Update

It's been a while since we've updated Drew's latest stats, so here goes! At his 1 year doctor visit, he is now in the 75th percentile for height and weight, and the 97th percentile for his big ol' head!! He weighs approx. 25 lbs right now. He has been taking a few steps on his own for a few weeks, but last week he really started walking on his own. He thinks it's the funniest thing! He's doing a pretty good job, but usually doesn't wait long enough to steady himself before he starts, so he ends up on the floor a lot, but it usually doesn't phase him.

We have tried moving him from formula to regular milk, but he won't even give it a try. I even added a little strawberry mix to it and he still won't touch it. Not surprising since neither his Mommy or his Daddy are milk drinkers :(

There is still a debate whether or not to cut his hair. I'll admit, it is out of control, but it's still kinda cute! It probably will happen in the next week or so.

Here are some recent shots from the weekend. Drew is typically a happy, smiley little guy, but when he gets mad, it's a quick temper! In the picture below, he was upset that Mommy took his pacifier away.
